This printable medication letter makes a complaint for drug prices and prescription run-arounds with a pharmacy.
Dear ___________,
After repeated efforts over the course of two months to secure a higher dose of my prescribed medication (estradiol estrogen patch), I am beyond frustrated. My physician has submitted a dosage preauthorization, a plan limit authorization (PLA), and who knows what else? The pharmacy blames insurance, the doctor's scribe blames the pharmacy, your insurance company blames everyone else, and my hormones rage on.
Estrogen patches are not at risk of being abused. I'm not selling them on the street. I can't imagine why this is so difficult.
Thankfully, my gynecologist recently offered a workaround. I have paid out of pocket to secure additional dosages of estradiol via a Canadian pharmacy. The process was quick, smooth, and actually cheaper than my copay.
I don't know why I'm even paying you for prescription coverage at this point.
Sincerely,
